Step 2 trace the template.
How to install a sliding closet door pull.
The runner is what the wheels roll along so the door can slide back and forth.
Use a razor blade to cut any paint finish between door and pull.
Either way let us know how it s going.
Then latch the wheels on top of the door onto the back runner of the top track.
This assumes you have a solid core pocket door.
If that doesn t work at least now you may have enough to grab with the pliers without the screw.
The normal height for hardware on an 8 foot door is 36 inches from the bottom side up.
The task is easier if you predrill the holes and use a drill bit on the drill to secure the screws.
Step 1 position the pull.
Drill a shallow hole in the center drive a screw into the hole far enough to get a grip on the pull two complete turns at least grab the screw with a pair of pliers and pull it out.
Measure in 1 1 2 inches along the bottom of the tape from the edge of the door that you intend to install the pull at.
Insert the wheels on the top of the first door into the top track.
Hold the door so the top is tilted backward.
Carefully use a small standard screwdriver to go around and slowly pry the pull off.
Use a small standard screwdriver and finish hammer to remove the small nails.
If you have a hollow core door then you will need to locate the wood block in the door and install the pull in that block.
